If Duke Ellington was still alive today, would his music still be popular today? Who would listen to it? If you would listen to it, what do you like about the music? If you would not listen to it, what would you change about the music to make it more appealing to you?
yes his music would probably still be popular
ReplyDeletebecause some poeple still listen to him.
people who like to dance might listen to it because it makes me want to dance, it makes me feel hyper.I like his music because it makes me feel happy and alive.

I thought it was very intresting I enjoyed listning to his music and would love to her more.
ReplyDeleteP.S.I'm so going to start downloading jazz to my ipod!!!!!!!! From:Smith
I think with some people his music would be popular but not with all people. I think mostly elederly people would listen to it because most young people like hip hop and that style of music. If I were to listen to his music I would probably mostly like the vibe and rhythm of the music. If I were not to listen to it I would probably make the music a little more updated to make it more appealing. Sam Schmidt Cannon
ReplyDeleteMatthew, Cannon-Yes because alot of people like it.lots of people. I like his music because it is very cool and I like his pinio peices it makes me feel happy.

ReplyDeleteMorgan Cannon5.If Duke Ellington was still alive I bet his music would still be popular because he can make new music wich will become a album. My family would listen to it even people in ND would listen to it because alot of people listen to it there. If I listen to it I would like how it relaxs me and how it comes me down aslo jazz helps express your feelings like if your sad you can do it slow if your happy you do it fast and when your angry you can use loud notes. Thanks for your time.
ReplyDeleteno, I don't think it would be popular because there is so many good songs out there Right now. The only people that would still listen to it would be old people.the only things I like about it is the beat and the choice of instruments. If I could change anything I would change the lyrics. Duane, Cannon
ReplyDeleteSome people would listen to it. I think that mostly old people would listen to it though. His music is ok to me and I wouldn't change anything.
ReplyDeleteJake
no, I do not think it would be popular with all the other types of music. Also alot of 40years and up would probably listen to it! If I could change anything I'd change the beat and the lyrics.

ReplyDeleteIf duke ellington was still alive then his music would probably be popular because he once was famous and yet still many people today. Also if he was still alive I would listen to it to hear his beautiful music. I like his music because its very inspiring and entertaining.
Duke Ellington's music would still be popular today with people who like jazz because his music is appealing to people with that taste in music, and he was one of the most renowned jazz artists of all time ,and he is probably appreciated by modern day jazz artists and fans everywhere for this.Although I mostly like hip hop and pop music, I would listen to most of his music because I like piano music , fast music, and I think his music has a good dancing beat.

ReplyDeleteIf Duke Ellington was still alive today I think his music would be popular becuase A lot of people like his music and his jazz. I think a lot of people would have him play at partys Becuase jazz is a good thing for partys in my opinion and he would be a big hit becuase he has a lot of fans. What I would like about the music is the catchy tune and all the cool instruments. What I would do if i didnt like it is i would want it to be more Jazzy and more instruments in the songs to make a more catchy tunes.
Rick Cannon
ReplyDeleteI think he would not be as popular because of people liking pop now as it being the new thing.I think old people will like his music. No I would not listen to it.Put in a guitar in it.
Yes if Duke Ellington was still alive then jazz music would be popular because he had fans back then and now. I love how the music has so much passion.
ReplyDeleteFawn Cannon
No it would not be popular. If he was still alive and playing jazz music very few people would listen to it. Maybe people born when jazz was more popular would listen to it. I would most likey make it more country.
ReplyDeleteSkylar Cannon
I think it wouldn't be as populer but what I liked was manly the rhytham.

If he was alive today i would listen to it because it is relaxing and it is a veary cool type of music personally i think the music is veary good and I would listen to it and I also think some elderly people would listen to it because it would be more interesting to them than us kids probably like such as pop and hip hop and stuff like that but i would listen to it and probably so would many others. Also i have a negative opinion about the music it is also kinda boring and just kinda wierd because just because im a kid I dont reaqlly listen to that kind of music and to make it better I would change the tune of some songs. I listen to POP and HIP HOP and i like that music but there different because jazz is calm and relaxing and HIP HOP and POP are more like makes you wanna jump and move!!

If Duke Ellington was still alive today I
ReplyDeletedo not think his music would still be popular today because everyone now days listen to country or pop. I think older people in there 60s would listen to his music because they like relaxing music and not loud POP or ROCK music. If i listened to his music i would think it was instramental and relaxing. I like the part were his music is relaxing because it is nice to have relaxing music playing every so often. I would change the fact that it is jazz because jazz is not my favorite type of music. I would also change the titles of his music because they do not make me want to say "oh i want to listen to this because it looks like it would be a good song".

I think older people would listen to it.
I like how the music has a little beat uplifting and interseting.
I would add eletric guitar and alittle more drums then maybe i would listen to it.

ReplyDeleteI don't think his music would be popular because there is a lot of other good music. I think that older people would listen to the music. I would change the sound for the music to make it more appealing.
JJ Cannon
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would be popular but not to most people.I would listen to it because it is live and up beat but I would change it so that it fits in our time.Like add some guitar and drums.
I don't think that Duke's music would still be popular because people don't really listen to jazz. Probley people in a coffe cafe would listen to it. If i would listen to Duke i would probley like to hear the different sounds. If i would change something i would change the bet a little.
ReplyDeleteMakaylin
If Duke Ellington was still alive I don't think his music would be popular because of all the modern day music. If someone were to listen to it it would be an older person who used to be a big fan or had parents or grandparents who listened to him. I like how he made his music sound like other sounds that other thing make such as a train whistling out of the station. To make the music to my approval I would combined it with a different type of music like rock.

No I don't think his music would still be popular anymore because jazz isn't that popular anymore as it used to be. I think only people who lived in his time would listen to it. I would like to add more instruments to it like to make it stand out more. I would also like to make it more modern time music.

Duke Ellington's music is something parents would listen to. I would listen to it because I am always braud to different music:)

I think alot of people would like jazz by Duke still today. I think it is a a fun type of music because it has different moods.
ReplyDeleteI think that adults would listen to it but most kids and teenagers would not and if i could change anything i would make the beat faster.
ReplyDeleteGeorge
I would think that people would like Duke Ellington's music today because they might not have heard anything like it and they might listen to more and grow to like it. I would listen to it because I like the way he bleands the insrments and sounds to create amazing peices.
ReplyDeleteI think people would love it today or a least the people in new york and harlem would. Sadly no I would not listen to it because the blues and the jazz type of music is not my type I like rock and roll and fast good music.
ReplyDeleteThe way I would change it is I wounld make it faster and not slower I also would put more words in it one of the biggest problems about jazz and blues is that it is mostly imstruments playing so that is what I wounld do. Carson Boberg
I think his music would be popular today

I think it would still be popular.I think most people would listen to it.I would listen to it. I would listen to it because it is upbeat.
ReplyDeleteI would probably listen to him because he would have continued being a musician. People would still go to his concerts and dance around with the music. I still like his music even though it is some old music. I love jazz music!!!

Most people would probabally love Duke Ellington because he has alot of talent and his music is extremely good. Duke has alot of fans (including me) just because his music is amazing. Some people in my class would probabally not love it ,but they would at least like it. All my friends love Duke Ellington's music.

I think that if Duke was alive today, his music would still be popular today, partly because he would still be there to play it live for us. Everyone would still know about it and like the music. I really like his music because he made so much more relaxing than some others made it. When I listen to jazz music, I think of more relaxing than loud, and also some loud noises, but not all sounds.

ReplyDeleteYes it will still be popular. Elderly people would listen to it and like it. What I like about is the quiet tone and slow rythym of it. I would change the instruments of it and change the band
I think that some people would still be fans. Unfortunantly I am not one of those people that would still be one of his fans. A few things that I would change are more instruments, more vocalists, and make it have more of a beat.
ReplyDeleteJordan- Mrs. Robbins 5th grade class
no i don't think that it would be popular because it would not be able to compete with all of the other types of music. I think that peoples grand parents or parents would listen to it because some of them might have grown up with jazz. I would listen to it because his music is always very lively and it puts me in a good mood.Carter Mrs.Robbins
ReplyDeleteI bet that duke's music would still be popular.I think that many that many people would listen to duke's songs. If I liked the music I would enjoy that it is really active and musical. If I did not like the music,well..i would not change it because it is great.

I think it would be still popular because more people will know about him, also a music store will have more cds or albums etc.I think he will have more songs so atleast one or more people will know about him.I like his music because its very soft and different from others. Keaton-Robbins
ReplyDeleteIf Duke Ellington was alive today I think his music would not be as popular as it was when he was alive because the popularity of jazz has slowly been dying down. I think older people would like the music because it is low toned and does not have many words if any. I like how his music is focused on the trumpet and the saxophone to make it sound very detailed in the varification of pitches.

ReplyDeleteIf he was still alive I think that he might be popular not only to older people but to some kid. I like the music I like that it can be dark and mistical at one point then be happy and bubbly right after. I would make the music faster though.
I think his music would be popular if he was still alive today because of its uplifting and upbeat sound. I think people of all ages would listen to his music. I would listen to it because I like how he is so into the music. You can tell he enjoys it by how crisp and clear each note comes out.
ReplyDeleteHannah- Robbins
A lot of people would/should listen to Duke Ellingtons music, it can jump out and grab you by the guts (it does me). I think his music would still be popular because it is a variety of different types of music. I would make it better by puting a bit more jazz into his songs.
ReplyDeleteA Hannah,Robbins
I think his music might be popular because it has a good beat and a good rythm. I would listen to it and my cousin would listen his music. I would listen to it because i like the beat and the instruments that he used, but I also Like the music we have today. I would also like it more if he made his music more exciting by adding more instruments and background singers.
ReplyDeleteCaitlyn-Robbins
I think it wouldn't be as popular as it used to be because music fads change over time really long time ago the fad was classical then went to jazz and now rock/pop i'm not saying that nobody listens to jazz or classical but not as many people listen to those geners as they used to
ReplyDeleteAlexei-Robbins
If duke Eliingtons music was still popular I would definetly listen to it.Because I would love to see what inspired him to be a composer. If he was still alive I would love to meet him. And I would not change any thing about it Because I want to keep it the way it is so everyone would be able to expirienc the wonder that is Duke Eliington. Ella-Robbins
ReplyDeleteIf Duke Ellington was still alive today I doubt his music would be popular in young age groups. In the 21st generation everyone listens to music that is computerized and mixed in a studio. It's sad to say but most kids wouldn't want to listen to pure talent like Duke Ellington and his band had. Ellington's songs really didn't have many words in them. It was just instruments. Most kids wouldn't sit down to listen to instrumentals. They want hip, cool, and singing sort of songs. It's fun when a song comes onto the radio to sing every lyric, you get satisfaction. His music may attract older people since it's calm, yey, not boring. I wouldn't listen to his music unless I was trying to go to sleep or if I wanted to use it as background music. Overall I'd make it more modern with technology, but it was good for that era!

I think Duke Ellington would still be very popular but not as popular as he was when he was younger. I think older people would listen to his music more than younger people.
ReplyDeleteI like the music because it is up beat, and fun to listen to. If I had to change something about his music I would make the instruments more up to date.
Duke Ellington Rocks!

ReplyDeleteI don't think his music would be popular anymore becuase what sometimes gives a boost of popularity is when people remember what his music was like after he has passed away, like the artist vincent vango, his painting wern't really popular until atleast a year after he died. And new styles of music come and go, in and out. The only thing I like about his music is how he manipulates instruments to make different sounds, yet nothing could make me like his other music no matter what tinkering.
I think it would be popular. But I think older people will listen to his music more than children. Also I think he would be less popular when he's older but still popular. Kids would rather have cool songs. If kids was going to listens to his music they are probably trying to sleep. If I could make an improvement I would change the instuments to more modern stuff.

ReplyDeleteI think that if Duke Elington was still alive he wouldn't be as popular as he was becuase we have all of that new rap and hip-hop music and alot of people would choose that music other than his.I think that more elder people would listen to his music more than younger people.I would listen to his music because I like his jazz music and I wouldn't do anything to change his music

ReplyDeleteIf Duke Ellington was still alive today a few people may listen to it but not everybody would.I would not want to listen to it because I do not really like jazz music at all. A lot more people would listen to it if they added a little more up- beat rhythm to the music. And also if they added a eletric guitar.
Luke/Somech
ReplyDeleteYeah! He's like a legend! I bet alot of people would listen to him because it would be very popular and grown ups would probally listen to him. I like the music but im not a big fan. To make it more appealing to me I would make him sing faster because I like rap and pop and things like that so I would like him to sing faster. Alot of fans that like pop or rap would say the same.

ReplyDeleteI think Duke Ellington would be popular because many like nice and soft songs like his. I also believe tons of people would listen to him or at least I know I would. People should listen to this because it could help express there feelings. These song could help you cheer up or remind you of good times and bad ones which will help many people. That is why he is a one of the best.

ReplyDeleteI Think his music would still be popular today because it's just amazing to me.If I had still listened to it (I do sometimes)I would like it because it's amazing and I do like the blues a lot.And I wouldn't change it at all because it's perfect already.
Emily A (Somech)
ReplyDeleteMusic that is popular today, and music that was popular back then, are totally different from each other. I don't really think that this music would be popular with some of the modern kids that are in their teens and younger, maybe even in their 20's. Some people though, might still like it and enjoy listening to it. I know that my dad listens to classical and jazz music. But like Wyatt said, music does go in and out of popularity, just like everything else does, and possibly jazz or classical music could make a come back.
Nicholas, Somech
ReplyDeleteI think the music would still be popular but more with elderly people. I think lots of different people would listen to it. I like the combination of the instruments.I think he was very good.
Kevin B./somech
ReplyDeleteIm don't think his music would be popular to some kids like us becauseevery one in our age group is into rap and stuff like that. Mainly people who want cassical music or play a musical instrument would listen to it because it is a great role model for people who play today.I would listen to it because of al the cool sounds the trumpet makes and when he plays the piano.
I think his music would be very very popular. I would definatley listen to his music, and I'm sure a lot of other people ould. I would listen to his music because the music is very fast and there is a lot of different instruments in his songs, and I like that.
